First, I've had my colostomy since birth. I've worn nothing but the Convatec stomahesive barrier and pouches. However over the last few years or so the quality of my Convatec products has definitely diminished which has caused me to have leaks, gas leaks, less wear time, skin irritation, and just a headache. So I decided to try Hollister New Image Cera Plus Soft Convex and I am sold. The ceramide technology helped protect and heal the skin around my stoma. The soft convexity allowed my stoma which is sometimes flush with my abdomen and other times retracts in to poke out of the barrier hole which I love. I had this barrier on for 6 days and experienced no leaks, no itching, no skin irritation. I could of gone maybe a few more days but wanted to examine the barrier underneath and it was in very good condition. It stood up to all the acidity and liquid to semi formed output. I mean I was impressed. I drink a half a gallon of water a day and I was sure I would need a change by day 3. But nope. Very happy with this product.
